How to add page numbers step by step
Drop your PDF into the tool. Under Page number settings, choose your preferred position and numbering format.
If your document should begin on another digit, enter that number under Start at. This works well for standalone report chapters.
Click Save PDF to download the finished file. Every page gets numbered with no account sign-up and no watermark. Text remains sharp and searchable because pages are copied as they are.

Encrypted files were blocked before processing with the message: "This PDF is locked. Unlock it in your PDF reader, save an unlocked copy, then add that copy."
Free tier limits and when not to use this tool
The free tier handles one file at a time up to 100 MB. A 101 MB file triggered: "pdf_mb_101.pdf was not added: the free version can hold 100 MB."
Adding two files at once displayed: "The free version works on one PDF at a time. Save this one, press Clear, then add the next." Do not choose this free tool if you need batch processing, ZIP downloads, saved presets, or custom output file names.
