How to Convert MOV to MP4 Without Watermarks

Open the converter in your web browser. Modern browsers like Chrome and Edge support every common format, including HEVC videos from iPhones.

Add your MOV files from your device. You can add up to 2 files at a time on the free tier.

Select your conversion setting. If your MOV video already uses H.264, the tool copies it unchanged without re-encoding to retain exact original quality. For HEVC videos from newer iPhones, select the High quality setting to re-encode them to H.264.

Run the conversion to generate your MP4 directly in your browser. The finished file contains only your video and audio, with no watermark added.

How We Tested the Tool

We tested the free tier of the tool on 2026-11-04 using desktop Chromium.

Our test suite evaluated 17 total test cases. All 17 cases passed.

We checked normal files, edge cases, and tier limits. The tests included vertical portrait videos, videos without sound, variable-frame-rate videos, WebM files, truncated files, and non-video files.

What Happened with Difficult Files

The tool converted several complex files without issues. A file name with Korean and Japanese characters, a very long file name, and a name containing extra spaces and an emoji all produced 531.2 KB MP4 files.

A vertical portrait video converted into a 466.3 KB MP4. A video with no sound track converted into a 241.3 KB MP4. Even a cut-off (truncated) video file successfully produced a 261.4 KB MP4.

Invalid files were safely caught. When we tested a 0-byte file and a PDF renamed as a video, the tool displayed: "This file could not be opened. It may be damaged, or use a format this browser can't read. Try Chrome or Edge, or another copy of the video."

Free Limits and When This Tool Is Not the Right Choice

The free tier allows up to 2 files per batch and 200 MB per file. When we loaded 3 files, the tool showed: "Up to 2 files fit in one batch: 2 added, 1 left out. Convert these, press Clear, then add the rest." When a file exceeds the size cap, it warns: "This file is larger than 200 MB, which is more than your browser can safely hold in memory. Cut it into shorter parts or use a smaller version, then try again."

This tool cannot download videos from YouTube or other websites. It only works on files already stored on your device that you own or have permission to convert.

Safari and Firefox may lack built-in H.264 or AAC encoders for certain files. If a file fails in those browsers, use Chrome or Edge.

We re-run these tests when the tool changes. Results describe this tool on the date shown.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q. Does the converted MP4 have a watermark?

No. The MP4 contains only your video and sound, with nothing added.

Q. Are my videos uploaded to a server?

No. The conversion happens inside your browser and the MP4 is created on your device. Nothing is sent to servers or anyone else.

Q. Can I convert MOV to MP4 without losing quality?

Often, yes. If the video inside the MOV is already H.264, it is copied into the MP4 unchanged with no loss in quality. For HEVC videos from newer iPhones, re-encoding to H.264 with the High quality setting keeps them close to the original.
