Free MOV to MP4 Converter: iPhone Videos, No Watermark
Convert iPhone MOV, WebM and MKV videos to MP4 that plays everywhere, often in seconds with no quality loss.
This browser cannot re-encode video, so only files that are already H.264 can be converted here. For everything else, use the latest Chrome or Edge.
Everything you already do here stays free, with the same limits.
Your videos never leave your device. They are converted in your browser, so nothing is uploaded to a server.
What this tool does
To convert an iPhone MOV to MP4 for free, drop it above and press convert: you get an MP4 that plays on Windows, Android and TVs, with no sign-up and no watermark. It turns MOV, WebM, MKV and M4V videos into MP4 files that play on phones, Windows and Mac computers, TVs and websites. If the video inside is already H.264, it is copied without re-encoding, so the conversion takes seconds and keeps the exact quality. Anything else, like HEVC from a newer iPhone or VP9 from a screen recorder, is re-encoded to H.264 with AAC sound. You can also make the video smaller or remove the sound in the same step.
How to use it
- Drop your videos into the box above, or click it to choose them.
- Keep H.264, plays everywhere under Video, unless you only want a quick copy.
- Optionally choose a smaller Size or a lower Quality to shrink the file, or Remove the sound.
- Press Convert to MP4. Each file shows its progress.
- Download each file, or press Download all.
Which settings to pick
| You want | Video | Size | Quality |
|---|---|---|---|
| An iPhone video that plays on Windows | H.264 | Original size | High |
| The fastest conversion, no quality loss | Keep the original video | Original size | (not used) |
| A smaller file to send or upload | H.264 | 720p | Medium |
| The smallest file for a quick preview | H.264 | 480p | Low |
Tips
- Re-encoding takes about as long as the video plays, or less on a recent computer. Copying takes a few seconds.
- A 4K video re-encoded at 1080p is usually much smaller and still looks sharp on most screens.
- Only need part of the video? Use the video trimmer instead, which also saves MP4.
- Please only convert videos you made yourself or have permission to use.

Frequently asked questions
Can I convert MOV to MP4 without losing quality?
Often, yes. If the video inside the MOV is already H.264, it is copied into the MP4 unchanged, so the quality is exactly the same. HEVC videos from newer iPhones are re-encoded to H.264; choose the High quality setting to keep them close to the original.
Does the converted video have a watermark?
No. The MP4 contains only your video and sound, with nothing added.
Are my videos uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion happens inside your browser and the MP4 is created on your device. Nothing is sent to our servers or anyone else, so it also works for private videos.
Can I use this to download videos from YouTube or other websites?
No. This tool only works with files that are already on your device, such as videos you recorded or exported yourself. It does not download anything from the internet, and you should only convert videos you own or have permission to use.
Why is my iPhone MOV converted so quickly?
When the video inside a file is already H.264, it is copied into the MP4 as it is, without re-encoding. That takes seconds and keeps the exact original quality. Newer iPhones record in HEVC (H.265), which is re-encoded to H.264 so the file also plays on Windows PCs, older TVs and most websites.
What does Keep the original video do?
It copies the video into the MP4 without changing it whenever the format allows, which is the fastest option and loses no quality. The file may then still use HEVC, VP9 or AV1, which some players and older devices cannot open. Choose H.264 when the file has to play everywhere.
Which browsers work?
Chrome and Edge convert every common format here, including HEVC from iPhones. Copying a video that is already H.264 works in any modern browser. Re-encoding uses the H.264 and AAC encoders built into your browser; Safari and Firefox may lack one of them for some files, and the tool then tells you so. If a file fails, try Chrome or Edge.
Are there limits?
Up to 5 files per batch and 200 MB per file, all free. Avalon Pro takes up to 100 files per batch and adds a ZIP download, saved presets and your own file names. The 200 MB limit is the same in Pro, because the finished MP4 is built in your browser's memory.
