What this tool does
To resize a photo for Instagram or any other network for free, pick its preset above and download: the exact size and crop are set for you, with no sign-up and no watermark. It resizes images in bulk three ways: to a ready-made social media size, to an exact width and height in pixels, or by a percentage. It can also crop to a shape such as square, 4:5 or 16:9, from the center of the image, and save the result as JPG, PNG or WebP.
How to use it
- Drop your images into the box above, or click it to choose files.
- Choose how to resize: Social media size, Pixels or Percent.
- Pick a size from the list, or type your width, height or percentage. Optionally choose a shape under Crop to shape.
- If your photo's shape differs from the target, choose Crop to fill or Fit whole image.

Tips
- On mobile apps the YouTube thumbnail upload limit is 2 MB. A 3840 × 2160 JPG at 85 to 90% quality is often larger than that, so lower the quality or upload from a computer.
- For a site icon that also shows in Google Search, use a square image larger than 48 × 48 pixels; the 192 × 192 web app icon works for both.
- Keep text and faces away from the edges of Story and Reel images, because buttons and captions cover the top and bottom of the screen.

Frequently asked questions
What size should an Instagram post be?
Use the Instagram presets above: they follow the sizes in the table below, including the 4:5 portrait shape that fills the most of the feed. Pick one and the crop and pixel size are set for you.
Does the resized image get a watermark?
No. The images you download carry no watermark or logo. Adding your own watermark is an optional Avalon Pro setting that is off unless you turn it on.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. Resizing happens inside your browser on your own device. Your photos are never sent to our servers or anyone else.
What does Crop to fill do?
When your photo has a different shape from the size you picked, Crop to fill trims the edges evenly from the center so the image fills the whole frame with no borders. Choose Fit whole image if you would rather keep everything and add borders instead (white for JPG, transparent for PNG and WebP).
Why does my image say it was enlarged?
The size you picked is bigger than your original, so the image had to be stretched and may look soft. For the sharpest result, start from a photo that is at least as large as the target size.
Where do the social media sizes come from?
From each platform's own help and advertising specification pages, checked on the date shown in the table below. Platforms change their recommendations from time to time, so check the table date if something looks off.
Can I resize to an exact width but keep the shape?
Yes. Choose Pixels, type only a width (or only a height) and leave the other box empty. The other side follows each image's own proportions. You can also crop to a shape such as square or 16:9 first.
How many images can I resize at once?
