Free AI Image Upscaler: Enlarge Photos 2x, No Sign-Up

Last updated By Avalon

Make small or blurry images twice as big and sharper with AI.

The preview shows a detail at full size so you can compare. Upscaling runs in your browser: fast with graphics acceleration, slower without it.

    What this tool does

It enlarges an image to twice its width and height and uses AI to sharpen the edges and rebuild fine texture, so small pictures look clean at a bigger size. It is free, with no sign-up and no watermark, and works with JPG, PNG and WebP, including transparent PNGs.

    How to use it

    1. Drop your images into the box above, or click it to choose them.
    2. Leave AI detail at 100%, or lower it for a softer, more natural look.
    3. Choose the file type, or keep the same type as the original.
    4. Press Upscale 2×. Each image shows a full-size detail of the result; press Show original to compare it with a plain enlargement.
    5. Press Download under an image, or Download all.

    Good uses

    ImageTip
Small product photo for a listingUpscale, then use our background remover for a white background
Old or low-resolution logoUpscale a PNG, then trace it to a vector with PNG to SVG
Screenshot or still for a thumbnailUpscale, then design it in the YouTube thumbnail maker
Image that must hit an exact sizeUpscale, then set the size with the image resizer

    Tips

    • Start from the best copy you have. Upscaling a heavily compressed JPG also enlarges its blocky artifacts.
    • For faces, try AI detail between 50% and 80%.

    Frequently asked questions

Is it really free? Is there a watermark?

Yes, it is free, with no sign-up and no watermark. Upscale up to 5 images at once, each up to 2,000 × 2,000 pixels, and download them at twice the width and height. Avalon Pro is for batches of up to 50 images with one ZIP download, saved settings and your own file names.

    What does 2x upscaling do?

It doubles the width and the height, so a 1,000 × 800 image becomes 2,000 × 1,600. Instead of only stretching the pixels, an AI model redraws edges and textures, so the result looks sharper than a normal enlargement.

    How long does it take?

It depends on your device. With graphics acceleration (a recent Chrome or Edge on a computer), a 1,000 × 1,000 image takes a few seconds. Without it, the same image can take a few minutes, and the tool tells you when that is the case. The model is a one-time 5 MB download that stays in your browser.

What is the AI detail slider?

At 100% you get the full AI result: crisp edges and rebuilt texture. Lower it to mix in a plain, smooth enlargement, which can look more natural on faces and skin. At 0% you get the plain enlargement only.

    Which images work best?

Photos, product shots, illustrations and screenshots that are small but not badly damaged. The AI cannot recover detail that is not there at all, such as an unreadable face or text that is only a few pixels tall, and it may invent texture in very blurry areas. Check the result before you use it.

    Why is there a 2,000 × 2,000 pixel limit?

The result is up to 4,000 × 4,000 pixels and is built in your browser's memory. Larger images run out of memory on many phones and laptops. To enlarge a bigger image, crop the part you need first.

    Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. The upscaling runs on your device, in your browser, so your images are not sent to our servers or anyone else.
