AI PDF: Summarize, Ask Questions and Translate a PDF
Get the main points of a long PDF, ask it a question, or translate the whole text. Your browser reads the PDF, so the file itself never leaves your device.

Everything you already do here stays free.
Your PDF stays on your device: your browser reads its text, and only that text goes to our server and an AI provider to write the answer. We do not store your text or the answer. AI answers can be wrong, so check anything important against the document. See our privacy policy.

What this tool does
Open a PDF and pick what you need: Summarize gives you the main points in a few lines (or a detailed summary), Ask a question answers from the document itself, and Translate turns the whole text into one of 18 languages. It suits contracts and terms you need to skim, reports and research papers, manuals, and documents written in a language you do not read.
How to use it
- Drop a PDF (or a .txt file) on the box above. Your browser reads its text and shows how many pages and characters it found.
- Choose Summarize, Ask a question or Translate, and set the length, your question or the language.
- Check the credit estimate and press the button. When the answer is ready, copy it or download it as a .txt file.
What it costs and what you need
This is a server tool, so it runs on credits rather than in your browser alone. Sign in with the email you used to buy credits; the tool shows your balance and how many credits the run needs before it starts. Reading the PDF happens on your device and is free. If a part fails on the server, its credits are returned.
Tips for better answers
- Ask one clear question at a time, and name what you are looking for: "What is the notice period for cancelling?" works better than "Tell me about cancelling".
- For a very long PDF, a short summary first shows you where to look, and a question then finds the detail.
- Translations keep the paragraphs of the original, so headings and lists stay readable. Tables come out as lines of text.

Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost?
It uses credits: 1 credit covers about 7,500 words read and written, rounded up once per run. A short summary of a 20-page report is usually 2 or 3 credits. The tool shows an estimate before you start, and it never starts a run you do not have the credits for. A credit pack works on any plan, and Avalon Pro+ includes 300 credits every month.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. Your browser opens the PDF and reads its text on your device. Only that text, and your question, are sent to our server and an AI provider to write the answer. We do not store the text or the answer. The provider processes it under its API terms, which do not allow training on it.
Does it work with scanned PDFs?
Not directly: a scan is a picture with no text in it. Read it first with the free PDF to Text tool, which reads scanned pages, then open the .txt file here.
How long can the PDF be?
The free plan reads up to 50 pages and 25 MB; Avalon Pro reads up to 500 pages and 100 MB. Long documents are summarized part by part and then put together, and translations go part by part, so a run can take a minute or two. You can use up to 100 credits a day.
Can I trust the answers?
Use them as a fast first read. Answers come only from the text of your document, and the tool says so when the document does not cover your question, but AI can still get details wrong. Check numbers, dates and names against the PDF before you rely on them.
What happens if something fails?
If the server cannot finish a part, the credits for that part are given back automatically and the parts already finished stay on screen.
