What to expect
High quality matches Word's own layout. The document is converted on our server and deleted right after; most files take a few seconds. If you used a font that is not installed on the server, a font with the same letter widths stands in, so the pages break in the same places.
Standard (fast) works offline in your browser. It sets the same words, structure and pictures on clean pages, without text boxes, columns, headers and footers. Use it when you have no connection or the document is very long.

Is this Word to PDF converter free?
Yes. Convert as many documents as you like, one at a time, up to 50 pages each. No sign-up, no email and no watermark.
Will the PDF look exactly like my Word document?
Yes, with High quality (the default). It keeps the page size, margins, fonts, colors, columns, text boxes, headers and footers, page numbers and footnotes, the way Word lays them out. If a font you used is not available, a font with the same letter widths is used, so lines and pages still break in the same places. Standard (fast) rebuilds the document on clean pages instead: the same words, structure and pictures, without the exact layout.
Which characters are supported?
With High quality, all common alphabets work, including Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, Greek and Cyrillic. Standard (fast) supports them too: Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Hindi and other Indian scripts, Arabic, Hebrew, Thai, Cyrillic, Greek, symbols and emoji. If a rare character still cannot be drawn, the result line tells you how many.
Can I convert an old .doc file?
Not directly. Open it in Word, Google Docs or LibreOffice, save it as .docx, then convert that file.
Is the text in the PDF selectable?
Yes. The text is real PDF text, so you can select it, search it and copy it. Links stay clickable.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Choose the .docx from your files, convert it, and the PDF is ready to share or attach to an email.
Are there limits?
One document at a time. High quality takes files up to 25 MB and 20 documents an hour; Standard takes up to 50 pages. Avalon Pro converts up to 50 documents at once, larger files (up to 95 MB, 500 pages with Standard) and saves them as one ZIP file.
