Free Excel to PDF Converter: XLSX and CSV to PDF Online

Last updated By Avalon

Turn an Excel spreadsheet (XLSX, XLS, ODS) or a CSV file into a clean PDF table for free.

Free, no sign-up and no watermark. Works on phones, tablets and computers.

      What this tool does

It turns a spreadsheet into a PDF that anyone can open, print or attach to an email, without Excel. It is free, needs no account and adds no watermark. It reads XLSX, XLSM, XLS, ODS, CSV and TSV files.

      You get:

      • Every sheet, each starting on a new page (or only the first sheet, if you choose)
      • A clean table with gridlines, numbers aligned to the right and the formats from your file
      • The header row repeated on every page, so long lists stay readable
      • Wide sheets fitted to the page in landscape, so no column is cut off
      • Real text, so you can select, search and copy it in the PDF

      How to use it

      1. Drop a spreadsheet into the box above, or click it to choose one.
      2. Pick the page size, orientation and sheets.
      3. Press Convert to PDF, then Download PDF.

      What to expect

Standard (fast) makes a tidy table. It copies your values, fits wide sheets to the page and repeats the header row. It does not copy cell colors, fonts, charts or pictures. Empty rows and columns around the data, and hidden rows and columns, are left out.

High quality keeps the design. It converts the spreadsheet on our server (deleted right after) and keeps cell colors, fonts, borders and charts, following the print settings saved in your file. A wide sheet with no print settings can run across several pages. CSV files always use Standard, since they have no design to keep.

      Tips

      • Hundreds of rows? Keep "First row is a header" on so every page shows the column names.
      • Only need part of a sheet? Delete the rows you do not need in a copy of the file first.
      • Need to combine the PDF with others? Use the free merge PDF tool.
      • Going the other way? Use the free PDF to Excel converter.

      Frequently asked questions

Is this Excel to PDF converter free?

Yes. Convert as many spreadsheets as you like, one at a time, up to 50 PDF pages each. No sign-up, no email and no watermark.

Will the PDF look like my spreadsheet?

You get the same values, laid out as a clean table: numbers right-aligned, dates and amounts formatted as in your file, merged cells across columns, and the header row repeated on every page. Cell colors, fonts, borders you drew, charts, pictures and comments are not copied. Simple tables convert best. For a designed sheet, choose High quality: it keeps cell colors, fonts, borders and charts and follows the page setup saved in your file.

My sheet is very wide. Will it fit?

Yes. With Fit all columns on the page width on, a wide sheet switches to landscape and the text gets smaller until every column fits. Turn it off to keep the text size and let long cells wrap instead.

      Are formulas converted?

The PDF shows the values your formulas last calculated, as saved in the file. A CSV file has no formulas, only values.

      Which characters are supported?

With High quality, all common alphabets work, including Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, Greek and Cyrillic. Standard (fast) supports them too: Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Hindi and other Indian scripts, Arabic, Hebrew, Thai, Cyrillic, Greek, symbols and emoji. If a rare character still cannot be drawn, the result line tells you how many.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. Choose the spreadsheet from your files, convert it, and share or email the PDF.

      Are there limits?

One file at a time, up to 50 PDF pages and 100 MB. Avalon Pro converts up to 50 spreadsheets at once and saves the PDFs as one ZIP file.
